performance artist


Nacido en Barcelona en 1980, estudió música en el Centre d’Educació Musical Diaula y en el Conservatori Municipal de Barcelona durante más de diez años, centrándose en la flauta travesera y el canto.

Realizó estudios teatrales durante dos años en el Institut del Teatre de Barcelona, combinando esos estudios con los de ballet y danza contemporánea en Àrea, espai de dansa i creació.

Estudió un año de Comunicación Audiovisual en la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, dónde también cursó el Máster de un año en Cultura de Paz y prevención de Conflictos de la Cátedra Unesco.

En 2002 se trasladó a Amsterdam para estudiar dirección coreográfica en la School for New Dance Development, donde se graduó en 2006.

Entre 2009 y 2011 cursa el Amsterdam Master of Choreography en la Escuela de Artes de Ámsterdam (AHK).

COMO BAILARÍN, ha participado en varios proyectos con coreógrafos como Jerôme Bel (The show must go on), Ivana Muller (While we ar holding it toguether), Carolien Hermans (Do you want to dance with me?, The sceptic, Body in bits and pieces) o Kyrstine Andersen (“WEGO”). En 2006 fue seleccionado para participar en el Dance Web Scholarship Program for Contemporary Dance, dentro del festival Impulstanz, en Viena.

COMO COREÓGRAFO, sus primeros trabajos fueron “panoramas, video and dance” (2004), “I belong to you image, sequence of panoramas” (2005), y "Solo” (2005), centrados sobre todo en la relación entre danza y vídeo, presentados en varios teatros y festivales en Holanda y España. Su producción “this is a picture of a person I don´t know” (2006) ganó el ITS Festival Choreography Award y fue seleccionada para la Dansclick Holland Tour, y ha sido programada en muchos encuentros internacionales por toda Europa.

En 2007 empieza como coreógrafo residente en el Frascati Theater de Amsterdam, donde crea el corto “watching you” y el solo “discopolis”, desarrollado posteriormente en Barcelona bajo el título “striptease programat”, y presentado dentro del programa Viatges a la Felicitat, en el Teatre Nacional de Catalunya. A finales de ese año empieza a trabajar en su tercer solo “striptease”, comisionado por el ITS Festival, como parte del Choreography award 2007.

En 2008 estrena “striptease” en el Something Raw Festival de Ámsterdam i lo continúa presentando en diferentes teatros internacionales. En verano, el Kalamata Dance Festival de Grecia le encarga una versión para tres mujeres de su solo “striptease” que se llamará “StripteaSeS”. Y en diciembre estrena en Ámsterdam su primera pieza de grupo para 5 chicas “do you have a cigarette? and other ways of approaching”, una colaboración entre el Frascati Theater (Ámsterdam), La Caldera (Barcelona), Operastate Festival (Bassano del Grappa) y Springdance Festival (Utrecht).

En 2009 crea el corto “miratge cromàtic”, produido por Nu2’s (Barcelona) y empieza a trabajar en la creación de “coser y cantar”, un estudio sobre la relación entre cantar y bailar, desarrollado dentro el proyecto de “Pasantías” de Malqueridas (Barcelona) y que se estrenará en 2010 en el Springdance Festival de Utrecht.
En julio, la asociación Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds (Holanda) le otorga el premio Charlotte Köhler, en reconocimiento a su carrera como joven coreógrafo.

En 2010 continúa presentando "coser y Cantar" en diversos festivales de España como el MOV-s de Madrid o el Terrassa Noves Tendències. También crea la primera versión de la instalción-performance "los títulos nunca mueren" con Iñaki Álvarez, producida y presentada en el Festival Escena Poblenou, y la performance "bomberos con grandes mangueras", comisariada per Álex Brahim dentro del proyecto "CUVO", presentado en el Matadero de Madrid.

En 2011, desarrolla su primera video-instalación llamada "(s)expositions(s)" con Joan Escofet, como trabajo final para el Amsterdam Master of Choreography. También empieza la creación de "diari d'accions", su segundo proyecto escénico con Iñaki Álvarez sobre la escenificación de titualres de perioódicos, que gira por diferentes sitios de Cataluña y Canarias. Y empieza la creación de su nuevo solo "danza real ya!", una colaboración con el Festival TNT de Terrassa y el Antic Teatre y La Caldera de Barcelona.
